Cherniak on polls

Jason Cherniak has something to say about polls!

Be careful about them; question them.. All of that stuff that seems to be said when polls don't necessarily go in your direction.

But what happened a while back when some poll numbers came out?

This:
The numbers don't lie
"
What can we infer from these numbers? That since the last election, the Tories have remained stagnant while and the Liberals have gone up. I'll take that trend!
"
Come on now... If one poll is valid, another is. If one is not, then another is not.

Personally, I believe polls are reasonably accurate for the most part; but only in showing general trends. When the CPC is at almost 40%, I tend to think that that it shows that support is growing, but I don't necessarily see it as being an accurate depiction of what an election would look like.

And lets not forget; timing is everything.

As for Jason; I think it would be in the interest of whatever credibility he has left, to refrain from flip-flopping on poll results like a Dion in Stornoway
